According to a 2014 report by data company Thinking Machines, Valenzuela City had the third highest number of road related injuries and deaths per 10,000 residents; with pedestrians and passenger deaths being the highest among NCR cities. As part of our ongoing efforts since then to improve road safety, this NCA program has helped us make even more progress in reducing these numbers. With this tried and tested system in place, we can ensure a standard of safety amongst our roads and through fares.
The NCAP system utilizes high-speed, high-definition CCTVs, state-of-the-art equipment and applications to capture images and videos of motorists and vehicles violating traffic regulations. It's capabilities can capture the smallest infraction which helps instill traffic discipline and in turn, improves traffic flow, productivity and general quality of life. In addition, the technology greatly aids the work of traffic enforcers and helps address efficiency and "kotong" or bribery issues. The overall program promotes transparency, accountability and responsibility amongst all Valenzuelanos.
